 | | Michelle (Mitch) Gibson My instructing career began in the fitness industry, evolving into training new generation instructors, presenting at fitness conventions nationally and internationally, and teaching fitness for 18 years before making the delicious transition into yoga in 2002. My philosophy around yoga continues to evolve. While maintaining utmost respect for the original yogic teachings, I endorse the necessity to modify poses and teaching style for some individuals. Our body types and postural issues aren’t as they were thousands of years ago during the yogic origins. My class has a flowing (dynamic) Hatha style, drawing influence from Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa style yoga, infusing traditional yoga poses with safety guidelines, making the practice safe, effective/functional and accessible to most individuals. I am the proud creator and nurturer of the yoga program at Ernst & Young. We started in the old building back in Kent Street in 2002, in a little training room once a week. It’s been so rewarding observing my students’ yogic journey and building our relationship on the mat. I’m passionate about continually making small changes that align my student’s needs with my vision for the yoga program. Corporate (onsite) Yoga and Pilates programs like this one at EY are my specialty. I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon. Namaste. | | |
